Meteorite Fall 1992

The meteorite found shortly after the fall tells a story. The original fusion crust appears part of a much larger specimen. The piece was fragmented in air as it fell; evidenced by a broken surface which is partially fusion crusted over (a secondary fusion crust). Another side has a fresh break with no fusion crust. The specimen probably broke on impact.

A fairly large fall in a populated area. Many stones hit houses and factories; the largest went through a factory roof and broke into many pieces. Some were reported to have been ground into dust and eaten as a possible cure for AIDs.
