Silicated Iron Mosaic

A beautiful slice with a variety of silicates displayed.The etched sections are an unusual display of metal (>50%), troilite and silicates, such as; Enstatite (Fs6), olivine (Fa 5), oligoclase (An16) and diopside (Fe 5 ) in that order of abundance (Mason 1967a). Each specimen is unique: this slice has 40 mm long silicate among the fractal components.
